FREE World-Famous National Museum of the US Air Force

DON’T MISS THIS!!  Dayton, the Birthplace of Aviation and so much more, is home to the FREE National Museum of the US Air Force, the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum. WOW!  The best just keeps getting better!  On June 8, 2016, a new fourth 224,000 sq. ft. hangar will open at the museum featuring all of the presidential aircraft, the global research gallery and more.  Your group won’t want to miss this!  If you’ve already been to the museum come back to see this new building which increased the museum’s size by 25%.  If you’ve never been the museum, it should be on your bucket list, schedule a visit now!

The museum features 19 acres of indoor space with more than 360 aerospace vehicles and artifacts.  Exhibits are displayed in chronological order with extensive coverage of each of the U.S. military campaigns.  Over 1.3 million people visit the museum every year from literally all over the world.  And guess what?  The museum and parking are FREE!  Open 7 days a week from 9am-4pm.  The museum also features a cafeteria, extensive gift shop, giant 3D theater featuring films on the hour, and flight simulator rides.

We like to say that Every Day is Veteran’s Day in Dayton!  Dayton, home to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, is a military city where servicemen and women are recognized with an elevated level of honor and respect.  Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is Dayton’s largest employer and the state’s largest single-site employer with approximately 27,000 personnel on Base.  In addition, to the National Museum of the US Air Force Dayton also features separate Korean War Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorials.  We would consider it an honor and a privilege to host your reunion group in Dayton!

Dayton the Birthplace of Aviation and so Much More, was home to Wilbur and Orville Wright and the city where they built their airplane and “really learned to fly!” Celebrate the National Park Service Centennial in 2015 by visiting Dayton’s won National Park!  Celebrate the National Park Service Centennial in 2016 by visiting Dayton’s own National Park!  Your group can experience the sites of the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park (two FREE interpretive centers) that feature movies, interactive displays, a flight simulator where you can test your piloting skills, and informative National Park Service rangers.

See the Wright Brothers original Wright B Flyer III, the only plane designated as a national historic landmark, stand on the hallowed ground of Huffman Prairie Flying Field where the Wrights really learned to fly and hosted the world’s first flight school or visit the Wright family mansion Hawthorn Hill.

Groups can also enjoy The Citizens Motorcar Company/America’s Packard Museum, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery including the Discovery Zoo and a Planetarium, the beautiful Dayton Art Institute, Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm, The Oregon Arts District, historic Dayton VA Medical Center one of the country’s three oldest Veterans Affairs facilities dating back to 1867, SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park, the 65 acre Carillon Historical Park with 30 historical buildings which includes Carillon Brewing Co. a fun restaurant and the nation’s only museum to produce and sell beer using 1800s techniques, the National Aviation Hall of Fame or the Dayton Dragons minor league baseball.

Check out Dayton’s burgeoning craft brew scene with over 10 popular thriving craft breweries to experience.  The Great Miami River winds through downtown Dayton and attendees can enjoy the beautiful views from RiverScape MetroPark which also features stations highlighting some of Dayton’s many inventions.
