Dayton, Ohio Convention & Visitors Bureau

Hi, I’m Sonya Harchaoui and I’m excited to serve as your Dayton military reunion specialist to ensure that your group has the best and most memorable reunion to date.

The Dayton Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is honored to host approximately 75 military reunions each year.  I will walk you through each and every step of the planning and implementation process.  And, the Dayton CVB’s services are FREE.

FREE World-Famous National Museum of the US Air Force

Dayton, the Birthplace of Aviation and so much more, is home to the FREE National Museum of the US Air Force, the world’s largest and oldest military aviation museum.  Your group won’t want to miss this!  If you’ve never been to the museum, it should be on your bucket list.  I can help you schedule a visit now!

The museum features 19 acres of indoor space with more than 360 aerospace vehicles and artifacts.  Exhibits are displayed in chronological order with extensive coverage of each of the U.S. military campaigns.  Over 1.3 million people visit the museum every year from literally all over the world.  The museum and parking are FREE!  The museum also features a cafeteria, extensive gift shop, giant 3D theater featuring films on the hour, and flight simulator rides.  It is open 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Once-In-A-Lifetime Experience Your Group Can Only Have in DAYTON!

Your reunion in Dayton can include a once-in-a-lifetime experience----an actual “Dinner Under the Wings” in the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force.  Surrounded by the memories of military heroes, the entire museum is your private home for the evening.

Every Day is Veterans Day in Dayton!

Dayton, home to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, is a military city where servicemen and women are recognized with an elevated level of honor and respect.  Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is Dayton’s largest employer and the state’s largest single-site employer with approximately 27,000 personnel on Base.

Dayton Is Extremely Accessible for Your Attendees

Dayton is located at the “Crossroads of America,” the intersection of I-75 N/S and I-70 E/W.  We are an easy drive-to destination, and we offer the Dayton International Airport which is serviced by the major carriers.  In fact, the Dayton Region is within 600 miles of 53% of the U.S. population.

World-Class Attractions, Shopping, Dining, Activities Galore!

Dayton, the Birthplace of Aviation and so Much More, was the home of Wilbur and Orville Wright and where they built their airplane and “really learned to fly!”  Your group can experience the sites of the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park (two FREE interpretive centers) that feature movies, interactive displays, a flight simulator where you can test your piloting skills, and informative National Park Service rangers.  See the Wright Brothers original Wright B Flyer III, the only plane designated as a national historic landmark.

Stand on the hallowed ground of Huffman Prairie Flying Field where the Wrights really learned to fly and hosted the world’s first flight school.  Or, visit the Wright family mansion, Hawthorn Hill.

Test lady luck at the Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway. Enjoy the boutique, market, mall, and outlet shopping or dining in any one of Dayton’s extraordinary independent restaurants including The Pine Club acknowledged in 2015 by “The Food Network” as the 2nd best steakhouse in the entire nation.

Groups can also enjoy The Citizens Motorcar Company/America’s Packard Museum, the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery (including the Discovery Zoo and a Planetarium), the beautiful Dayton Art Institute, Aullwood Audubon Center and Farm, the Oregon Arts District, historic Dayton VA Medical Center (one of the country’s three oldest Veterans Affairs facilities dating back to 1867), SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park, the 65 acre Carillon Historical Park with 30 historical buildings and the Carillon Brewing Co. (the nation’s only museum to produce and sell beer using 1800s techniques), the National Aviation Hall of Fame, or the Dayton Dragons minor league baseball.

Check out Dayton’s burgeoning craft brew scene with over a dozen popular thriving craft breweries to experience.  The Great Miami River winds through downtown Dayton and attendees can enjoy the beautiful views from RiverScape MetroPark which also features stations highlighting some of Dayton’s many inventions. The nearby LaComedia Dinner Theater is also popular with reunion groups.

Bring the kids and let them enjoy Kings Island Amusement Park, an easy 25-minute drive from Dayton.

With over 7,000 hotel rooms we can offer the ideal accommodations for group’s specific needs.

I look forward to working with you on an outstanding military reunion in Dayton!
