 Fredericksburg Area Tourism

Let the Fredericksburg Area make your next reunion the historic event that everyone will always remember. Our impressive list of military personnel who spent a considerable amount of time here, include the favorite son, General George Washington, who grew up here and General Robert E. Lee and General Ulysses S. Grant who met merely during the Civil War. We’d like to add your name to this distinguished guest list.

Located just 50 miles south of Washington D.C., the Fredericksburg area offers you all the conveniences of the big city without the price tag. Our affordable accommodations and variety of meeting facilities offer you a value that can’t be beaten. And, if you want to take a day trip into Washington, it’s easy on one of our modern motor coaches or on the Virginia Railway Express which takes you into Union Station and an awaiting Gray Line tour.

There are also plenty of options for sightseeing right in the area. The staff of Fredericksburg Department of Tourism will help you arrange an itinerary to visit the museums and battlefields and help with local transportation. Trolley Tours of Fredericksburg will pick your group up at the hotel and transport them to Old Town Fredericksburg for a 75-minute narrated tour. If you’re looking for evening activities, consider the Riverside Dinner Theater offering classic Broadway musicals or an evening candlelight tour of the Rising Sun Tavern. From May through October, lunch and dinner cruises are available along the Rappahannock River.

Our proximity to Fort A.P Hill and Quantico Marine Base are an added plus. The National Museum of the Marine Corps, only twenty minutes to the north, is a state-of-the-art museum detailing the Marines’ contributions to the American people. Seventy-five miles to the northwest is the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, the Smithsonian’s companion facility, where you’ll see the Enola Gay on display.

Complimentary welcome packets and hospitality tables are also available.

Let us help you in planning your most memorable reunion ever.
